The BBC has issued a new podcast in their "Great Lives" series: Dolly Alderton on Doris Day (June 2, 2020).

There are interviews with Dolly Alderton (a young British columnist) and Tamar Jeffries McDonald (an academic who did extensive research for her dissertation on Doris Day that became the book "Doris Day Confidential") plus a few very short clips of Doris singing.

I like how McDonald describes a past reviewer who said Doris had a "voice as humid as it's legal to be." (about 9:25 in the podcast) and another reviewer who said "she was a blonde with a brunette voice."

You can find the 27 minute podcast in a variety of places (iTunes, etc) or directly at https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000jmtf
