Your comments are very observant and deeply appreciated.

I do think that Doris' directness and honesty on screen are what attracted me to her in the beginning. There wasn't a false note in anything she did - she was real and as you said - she struck "that chord of humanity" so beautifully. I remember as a kid seeing her for the first time in Pillow Talk and I trusted her implicitly. Other stars occasionally caught my eye, but Doris was the one that I loved the most.
