Yes, feel-good image, feel-good, movie - one of my favourite DD films. I like the fact that she blends in nicely with the rest of the cast - although the two songs (particularly "Anyway the Wind Blows") seem a bit 'bolted on' for DD fans - and perhaps soundtrack sales! Doris looks great in it and she and David Niven are very believable in their roles - as are the rest of the cast and kids!

Wasn't "Anyway The Wind Blows" the title of the play that Marty produced on Broadway about this time?

Daisies to me is a lovable and rambunctious family movie that is loaded with charm. Doris gave one of her most natural performances as the harried mother of four and her pert disposition was an effective foil for David Niven's persnickety critic.

JMichael: The name of the play Melcher produced was "The Perfect Setup," a huge flop on Broadway. "Anyway the Wind Blows" was the working title for "Pillow Talk."
Like Irene Dunne done.

I found this link regarding the play : http://www.playbillvault.com/Show/Detai ... fect-Setup
thank you for the info. I didn't know he had produced a play. I wonder if it became successful maybe he would have convinced Doris to go on stage. That would have been wonderful!

Wasn't it around 59 or the early sixties that Doris and Marty started to have a lot of problems and she asked for a divorce and Marty's so call lawyer advise against it and we now know why. Doris was both of their main money source. They kind of went their separate ways even though they didn't go through with the divorce, this might have been the reason Marty tried to do this so call play at the time trying to do something on his own, guess he could kind of relate with Snyder in "Love Me Or Leave Me" when in the part Ruth says to him, " And just what have you accomplished ? have you ever done one successful thing on your own?
