The hairdo was not all that bad if you consider some other movies.Perhaps because of the many carwashtakes this was used. Also,it was under supervision of Barbara Lampson, hairstylist nr.1 for Doris.

Thanks Dorine - re the car wash scene:
The producers scheduled the scene with Doris Day riding through a car wash for the last day of shooting because they were concerned that the chemicals in the detergents might affect her complexion. When the scene went off without a hitch, they admitted their ploy to Doris, then used the story in promotional materials for the film.
The movie grossed $12,705,882 in the United States, becoming one of the biggest hits of the year and helping to keep 20th Century Fox afloat after Cleopatra." - Wikipedia

Do Teacher's Pet next with Clark Gable. Saw his first movie the other night, Night Nurse 1931!

You're a great encouragement, Ania! (As are most of you, I hastily add!)

I was joking with Johnny on another post that it would be a good poster for Doris to raise money for her horses as you can see her love for them here! I later thought of a caption with Doris saying, "Didn't I work with you on "Calamity Jane?", as she looks like she's meeting someone she's met before. :)
Barbara has just sent me a great colourised (English spelling!) version which I'll upload tomorrow.

And again, thanks to Dorine for findig the photo. 8)
