Re: Ke mo ki mo!

Suzie,

You are exactly right. I think she just loved being around children. She loved making the album with the children, I remember her talking about that on her birthday broadcast and to play more of those songs.

Re: Jumping back into time

Megan,

I think Suzie's idea is wonderful. That is a good year to work with and a little more up to date than going back to the late 40's when she first started.

I think you would have a much better paper with the comedy era in the 60's.

I'm sure you will make the right decision.

I stand by my statement!!  I place it in the same league as "You Can Ring My Bell, "My Ding-A-Ling" and "Who Let The Dogs Out?"  (But seriously, it was SO beneath her capabilities and quality level. Re: AWASH IN DORIS DAY

John,

That is a cute song, I must admit the first time I heard it I said: What kind of song is that?

Then the more I listened to it the better I liked it and with Doris singing it....well she is the only who
could pull off a song like that and make it sound good.

Yes, I did hear that Mamie Van Doren did not like Doris....well I think Doris was a lot more classy woman than Mamie. I didn't really care for her (Mamie) too much.

To Haymarket and Babe Williams: I apologize to both of you if my comments, in any way, insulted either of you. They were not meant to do that. I think I was just reacting in general to what music we are able to hear on the radio today; for me, there is no choice. I don't care if they call it "range...

George - I think you expressed it beautifully. I feel much the same way. She has some special quality that jumps off the screen and grabs you. It shines through her music, as if she's singing just to you. I think you're right - the kindness is always there. The thing that comes through to me - in e...

There was a great cast, as you said the script wasn't too good.
But Doris was in it so you have to like it.
